add $4.95 - Replace Case Back Gasket and Silicon
As a watch ages, rubber components become less effective. It is recommended that a new case back gasket and fresh silicon grease be applied while installing a new watch battery to keep out moisture and dust. But, this will not assure that the watch is immersible unless a water pressure test is also performed to verify other watch components are sealing correctly. Watchcare will not be liable for moisture damage, but a new gasket would definitely be a benefit to your watch.

add $4.95 - Water Pressure Test
The only way to verify that all the locations for possible dust and moisture intrusion are sealed correctly is to perform a water pressure test. Locations like the stem and crown, function buttons and crystal all deteriorate as the watch ages. The pressure test will tell if the watch can hold the pressure indicated on the case markings as of the time the test is performed. The test fee only applies if the watch passes the pressure test. If the watch fails, it will remain completely functional, but it should be kept away from water. We use the finest water pressure testing equipment on the market. You will receive a print out showing the results of the test. Care must be taken not to exceed the depth limits of the watch and to verify that the stem & crown components are secured prior to immersion. Because of these factors and that the watch will continue to degrade, Watchcare will not be liable for moisture damage, but this test will give you additional information about the condition of your watch.

add $9.95 - Upper Grade Fee*
Over 90% of the watches we see for repair fall under the regular grade category. However, some watches are much more expensive, fragile and difficult. For the upper grade manufacturers listed at the bottom of the page for the Watch Battery Change service and Link Adjustment service, we charge an additional fee. Quality service on a fine timepiece is a worthwhile investment.

add $8.95 - Metal Band Link Adjustment
If your metal band has become loose or maybe you have a new watch, we can remove links so that it will fit your wrist correctly. We can remove links on stretch bands, clasp bands and most fashion bands. You will need to determine how many links to remove, based upon how tight you want the watch to fit. We have found some people like their watch to be loose, while other like it to make their hand purple. After you receive your watch back, if the fit is not correct, we will redo the service based on your needs and all that you pay would be the basic shipping and handling charge. We will work to make sure that we get the right fit for you.
